Jessica Jacobs is a scholar, designer, artist, and educator with expertise in strategic thinking and planning, project management, communication, marketing, and design thinking.
Jessica has more than 15 years of experience in design, marketing and communication including managerial roles at Transolid, Inc., a product manufacturer, and Northwestern University. She now operates her own design firm, Jessica Jacobs Design, as well as a consulting practice, Art Ally, LLC, which provides consulting services in business development and project management to artists, educators, and organizations. Through Art Ally, Jessica is also developing software tools to help artists manage their careers.
Currently, Jessica is an Assistant Professor in the Business & Entrepreneurship Department at Columbia College Chicago where she teaches classes in design management, entrepreneurship, project management, visual arts management, self-management and freelancing, and information management. Jessica previously worked as an Assistant Professor at Colby-Sawyer College and St. Norbert College where she taught courses in graphic design, photography, art history, advertising and new media.
Jessica earned a BS in Radio/Television/Film from Northwestern University and an MFA in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design.
